Trad Group perform in Birr Arts Theatre
The school's Traditional Irish Music Group performed as support act to multi-instrumentlist Tim Edey in Birr Arts Theatre on Friday last. The lads performed excellently on the night and really brought the house down. It was unainmously agreed that their encore performance with Tim Edey was the highlight of the night for all. The lads themselves had a great time and would like to thank all at Birr Arts Centre for having them perform and indeed to Tim Edey for being so generous with his time, his encouragment and playing tunes with them on the night. Here are a few clips from the concert.
The Coláiste Choilm Trad Group playing 3 jigs, the first called ‘The Castle’ (composed by Darragh Ryan’s grandfather Séan), second ‘McIntyre’s Fancy’ (composed by Johnny Brady, grandfather to 4 of the lads in the group) and third jig, ‘The Lisnagun’ (composed by harpist Laoise Kelly).
